Lakeshore Beverage recently threw a Secret Beer Party to celebrate the launch of Alaskan Brewing Company beginning its distribution in Chicago, IL. We were able to win a couple tickets and got to attend. The event was held at the Moosejaw store in Lincoln Park. Head brewer and co-founder Geoff Larson was on hand along with other brewery and distribution staff.
There were four bottled Alaskan brewing beers being exchanged for drink tickets: Hopo Thermia, White, Husky IPA and Amber.
Alaskan Brewing Company opened its doors in 1986. Geoff Larson (President & Co-founder) has been homebrewing a few years previously and was ready to make a go of it commercially. The Alaskan Amber was the first brew to come off the line at Alaskan Brewing Company and is still made by the brewery today.
The line outside the event wasn’t bad and move pretty quickly.
Awesome beer cozies were given out.
The MC for the night had fun doing prize giveaways, a frozen t-shirt contest, serious dad-jokes and more.
There was even a pullups contest our friend Jim sadly did not win.

Local DJ spinning some tunes for the event.
Check-in was a bit serious and not. IDs were checked and names were crossed off lists.

Welcome to the Chicago market Alaskan Brewing Company. We’re happy you’re here!
