Clearly a local favorite in Baltimore, Union was busy the entire time I was there. Outdoor games, industrial feel, beer being poured by bearded gentlemen.
I happened to arrive in time for a free tour. The tour was concise, but well done. My favorite thing about the tour, was learning that the entire staff also brews, packages, and tends bar. Everyone was well aware of everything…which is refreshing.
I grabbed their standards (all canned) and stuck with their brewery only releases.
The Cosmic Giggle (DIPA) was dank as hell and juicy too boot.
The other wildly opposite pour that I enjoyed was the Old Pro Gose. Refreshing in the heat, well balanced with not too much salt or coriander, but tart nonetheless. If this wasn’t enough, the had variants of the Old Pro and a cask variety as well. The Old Pro Tee Time (peach and wildberry) were both excellent, but the Wildberry cask was delightful.
All in all, a must visit in Baltimore (and I can’t wait for their new complex in the spring of 2018).
